Raşit Pertev, a Turkish national, is the Secretary of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), an International Financial Institution and a specialized agency of the United Nations ¹. He has previously served in high-level diplomacy and government roles, as Minister of Agriculture and Forestry (2004-2005) as well as Chief Negotiator for UN Peace Talks (2005-2007). He has extensive operational experience and expertise, including with the World Bank. Earlier in his career, he was the Assistant Secretary-General of the World Federation of Farmers (IFAP) in charge of developing countries.”
¹Mr. Pertev has currently recused himself from the position of Secretary of IFAD for the period of elections due to his bid for Presidency of IFAD.
